Skin Ego at 'Saint Ink'

The concept of 'Skin Ego', developed by Didier Anzieu, is treated in “Communicating Skin: What is the role of Skin Ego in Affect Transmission between Tattoed and Tattoing Bodies?” by Mihaela Brebenel. The essay was opened to the interpretation of of 4 artists involved in the exhibition: Cristopher Collier (UK), Roisin Byrne (UK), Miahaela Brebenel (UK/RO) and Ioan Pupila (RO).

 

Having as a starting point the usage of adnotations we often make on our skin with a pen or marker, I am questioning the relation between memories and skin, seen as a mediato of the interaction with the external world.
